Are you struggling with dead zones in your house? When my router isn’t in just the right position, the other side of my home becomes a dead zone. I can barely use my laptop for work.
But it’s not always easy to find the right position for your router – or to keep it in that position forever.
That’s why, in my opinion, Wi-Fi extenders are absolutely necessary. Unless you’re lucky enough to get a strong signal in every room of your house (is anyone this lucky?), a Wi-Fi extender should be at the top of your list of must-have electronics.
Most Range XTD reviews are positive – and I can see why. It’s a reliable Wi-Fi extender that’s simple and easy to use.
The Range XTD Wi-Fi extender doesn’t have a revolutionary design, but in my opinion, this is a good thing. If you’ve ever used an extender before, you should be familiar with the design and how it works. This makes it easy to install and get started.
But even if this is your first extender, installing and using it is much easier than you think.
Range XTD is designed to improve wireless coverage on all WAN networks, and it offers wireless speeds of up to 300mbps.
For even better signal boosting, this model has two built-in antennas. And there’s also support for WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption to protect your network. It’s easy to activate the encryption function, too. Simply plug in the device in a wall socket, push the WPS button, and you’re good to go.
On the extender itself, there are two ports:
You also have the option of choosing between three modes:
There’s also a power switch, which makes it easy to turn the extender on and off.
One feature that I really like about this extender is that it has a signal indicator. The 3x Wi-Fi signal strength LED lets you know how strong your signal is so that you can choose the appropriate location for your extender. This feature may not sound like a big deal, but it saves you from having to plug in the extender, checking the signal strength on your device, and then finding a new location.
I’ve used extenders and boosters that don’t have this feature, and I wound up spending a lot of time running around the house trying to find the best location.
But what about installation? Some extenders make it really complicated to set up and start using their device.
Range XTD is different. Unlike other Wi-Fi extenders, this one actually has a wizard for quick and easy setup. If you’re not tech savvy, this feature will make your life so much easier.
There’s a lot to like about the Range XTD. In my opinion, the easy setup and installation are the two things that set this device apart from others.
With other Wi-Fi extenders, I’ve had difficulty getting the device to work properly and install everything. It can be a hassle to get some devices to work properly.
With the Range XTD booster, all you have to do is plug it in, turn it on, and use the wizard to set everything up. And of course, you have the LED signal strength indicator that lets you know whether you’ve chosen a good spot to plug in your extender.
Range XTD saves you time and frustration – two things that everyone can benefit from. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend a Saturday afternoon trying to find the right place for my Wi-Fi extender. I have other, more important things to do.
I also like that there’s a simple push-button for on and off, and this device also supports WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption for privacy protection.
And it supports wireless speeds of up to 300Mbps. That’s pretty impressive for any extender. The two built-in antennas help with signal strength and ensuring that you get as fast of a connection as possible on your network.
I also like that this extender is pretty compact in size, and it isn’t an eyesore when it’s plugged in. In fact, you won’t even notice that it’s there. I put mine in the corner of the living room, and guests have never even asked me about it.
Of course, no product is perfect. But this one does come close. I only have one complaint, and that’s the shipping time.
It took a little longer than expected to reach my doorstep, but this can happen with any product. Not to mention the fact that Range XTD is often sold out, so there’s always a chance that you’ll have to wait a little longer until they get some back in stock.
Now, one thing I do have to point out is that this extender won’t automatically boost your speed. It says wireless speed up to 300Mbps, and that’s a little misleading in my opinion. It can support speeds that high, but it won’t actually increase your speed to that level.
It will definitely feel like your speed is faster because you’re getting rid of those weak and dead zones in your house. But you’re not actually increasing your speed.
So, if your Internet provider doesn’t offer up to 300Mbps connection, don’t expect to get this kind of speed with the Range XTD.
The Range XTD extender gives some of the other extenders I’ve reviewed a run for their money. It’s a reliable extender that’s easy to use and install.
Yes, shipping may take a while, but it’s worth the wait.
This extender is basically a plug-and-play device, and it supports encryption to help protect your network. Simply plug it into a wall socket, and enjoy better signal strength throughout your home. If you have any dead zones or areas where your signal is weak, Range XTD should help tackle the problem.
